I used to worry about being called a bleeding heart liberal. You know, I rather be that than a cold-hearted conservative. Jesus wants us to torture - I don't think so. My belief deep down is that, somehow, this will come back to haunt those pricks willing to destroy the constitution in order to protect the most pitiful president this country has ever had.

I know, Greg. I keep thinking (praying even) that it won't get worse, and every time, every single time, it does get worse.
If a nation can have karma, then there'll be hell to pay for the sins of this era. I mean, what could be worse than torture, tossing out habeus corpus, and secret evidence? Genocide? Perhaps. Except, yeah, we're doing that too....
Well, I've tried to post in the past, but it's really easy to get "smacked down" here (generally by one arguably over-sensitive or over-reactive person) even though my points are equally valid as those of you all here and your "viewers."
Trying to participate, ONE last time. (Also BTW: simple props, whoever the author of this blog is, he or she is one very talented artist and should be respected as such. Wow.)
So I'm trying again. What does that mean? If you want to "smack me down" again, with relatively illogical means (ie. illusions of merit, religion, accusations or one-sided overreactions without actually willingly engaging in dialogue, which is what I PERCEIVED this blog to at the very least entertain), then go ahead. I love the ones about being Christian or Muslim or Islamic or Hindu enough - yep, I'm exaggerating again for a point -- and again stongly... as if that actually defines an individual or their caliber. Yes, I probably missed multiple religions. If you get on a hobby horse about that, you'll be proving my points above and below. And now, I risk offense and millions will protest, OR, you respect my perspective as equally as I respect yours, which you may be surprised is far more an accurate statement than you might imagine.
I have only come back here once more to see what you're all doing. I actually respect what you're doing, but I won't participate in a one-sided game. If I predict accurately, and base my experiences on historic means, one participant here will do his best to degrade my opinions and play any comment I make as a "religious" or "ethnic" situation, though YOU, special readers, will see that I've never bothered to spend a moment in that arena. Frankly I, and you, could care less. This is not a "religious" war. This is not a "gender" war. This is not an "ethnic" war. This is not the game of "fear" presented (and bought into by many.)
There is no "war."
This is a game of "power." Sometimes less is actually more, and I'm throwing that idea in explicitly to elicit a reaction and a response.
I argue that it is critical to equate "the" government as "our" government, even if we voted, and even if we voted vehemently against the folks who are now doing something that at least only slightly appears governmental, and also does what many perceive as very dangerous things.
If we participate in the voting process, and until one can prove it's a sham, which it is starting to unravel to appear, this is OUR government and we must take responsibility for it (and even if it was or is unsuccessful, we must take responsibility for it.) This notion extends us from mere "voter" to active participant in our nation.
The "power" in this game can (somewhat) easily shift if we all at least all take responsibility for "our government" and make the necessary adjustments at the appropriate times to get it where it needs to be.
Please exercise your "power," but please also don't do it on grounds other than the constitution of our country, (where people are indeed equal, so don't even think of coming back with any religious-based thing... I don't care what religion you are, this is NOT what this is about.)

Before I respond I just want to remind you that blogs tend to be diaristic (as in the word diary). I tend to voice my frustrations in this forum with no intention of insulting or otherwise devaluing another's ideas and impressions. If my thoughts and feelings make you uncomfortable then, please, don't feel obligated to read or comment.
With that said, I have to admit that I am not quite sure what your argument is. If it is that we need to follow the constitution and by acting on it in a manner that embraces its essences then I am in complete agreement.
Unfortunately, we have a president and legislative branch that seem not to want to do that.
Yes, it is all about power. But with power comes responsibility and conscience. Without that it is mere psychopathy (see the next post).
